Walters elected to North Dakota Community Foundation board
The North Dakota Community Foundation announced the election of Troy Walters of Grenora and Patrick Kelly of Bowman to three-year terms on the NDCF Board.
Walters is the Superintendent and High School Principal at Grenora Public School. He has served on many local and regional boards including the Rural Education Association Executive Board, the Great Northwest Education Association, the Montana Coaches Association, the North Dakota Coaches Association, and has served as President of the Wil-Mack Special Education Board for Williams and McKenzie counties.
Elected to serve one-year terms as Officers of the Board:
Chair: Mike Killoran, retired CFO and Senior Lending Officer of First State Bank of ND, Casselton
Vice Chair: Tim Ottmar, attorney and partner at Ottmar & Ottmar PC, Jamestown
Secretary/Treasurer: Vicki Kunz, Insurance Risk Manager at MDU Resources Group, Inc. in Bismarck
Joining the Officers on the Executive Committee:
Justin Forde, Director of Public Affairs for Midco, Argusville; Chris Griffin, Red River Land Company, Grand Forks.
The North Dakota Community Foundation Board of Directors is made up of 15 volunteers from across the state. They receive no financial compensation for their service on the Board. They are elected from the population of North Dakota and are selected to represent a broad cross-section of North Dakotans. They can serve two three-year terms and then must leave the Board.
The North Dakota Community Foundation is a public, non-profit tax-exempt corporation that receives and distributes charitable funds to support a wide range of programs that improve the quality of life for North Dakotans. NDCF currently manages over 650 funds for various North Dakota communities and donors, including 64 community foundations and over 100 scholarship funds. It holds assets in excess of $80 million and to date has made more than $68 million in grants all across North Dakota.
